Flooring
How to specify
Floors are bought by traffic class. Three questions decide everything: how many people, in what footwear, wet or dry. The material follows.
Recommended materials & thickness

| Tiles | 600×600–600×1200 / 9 mm | Homes and offices: rectified porcelain with 2 mm joints, endless design range. |
| Marble | 16–20 mm | Honed marble for residential and hotel interiors — timeless, but budget the care. |
| Granite | 20 mm+ | Retail, lobbies and public buildings — the only natural stone that shrugs off shopping trolleys. |
| Granite | textured / R11 | Entrances and wet outdoor zones, where polished stone is a slip lawsuit waiting to happen. |
Design & installation notes
- Substrate flatness: 3 mm under a 3 m straightedge for large formats, or budget for grinding.
- Movement joints at door thresholds and roughly every 25 m² indoors.
- Slip ratings: R9 dry interior, R10 wet interior, R11+ ramps and showers.
Care
- Entrance matting traps the majority of the grit that would otherwise scratch the floor.
